Trades I wish I'd made
Looking back with regret...
Spent several weeks trying to do a trade with Ken during the offseason to pick up Brian Roberts in exchange for D'Angelo Jimenez. After some tweaking efforts, Ken offered:
Brian Roberts
Travis Harper
Garrett Anderson
for
D'Angelo Jimenez
Francisco Cordero
Richard Hidalgo
Boy was I stupid to pass that up. Anderson's defense scared me away, already having a 4 in right with Sheffield. But now, the Clips have an anemic batting average. Brian Roberts is an early MVP candidate for the Orioles; D'Angelo Jimenez has been designated for assignment by the Reds. Francisco Cordero gives up walks every time I bring him in, and Richard Hidalgo is useless in Strat and hitting about .200 for the Rangers. What a dope I was.

Your not a dope. Sometimes the best trades are the ones you don't make. D. Dogs
Only Dionne Warwick and her Psychic Friends could possibly have known that Brian Roberts would turn into a slugger. Jimenez has a nice card and I, too, thought Hidalgo would hit 35 homers in Arlington. Stop beating yourself up over this and take a Tylenol PM to take your mind off this perceived blunder.
Dionne Warwick is a friend of mine. I knew Brian Roberts was going to be studly from a psychic message I received from her by playing her record "walk on by" backsards "Roberts is great, Paul is dead" jake
I agree with the Colonel. Roberts' break-out season came out of nowhere, and I also thought Hidalgo would be a monster with the Rangers.
At least the Clips can look back on their off-season deal with Gophers and smile. The Clips got Cordero (useful despite walks) and Zach Day (not half bad) for two guys who probably will never see the light of day with the Gophers (Orlando Cabrera and Joel Pineiro).
