July 2006 deadline deals

The Hickory Nuts were the most active dealer during Saturday night's trading session, working three deals that solidified their 2007 club.

The blockbuster deal was the 12:18 a.m. acquisition of Scott Rolen from Margaritaville, in exchange for Manny Ramirez. Hickory also snagged Brady Clark in that deal.

Earlier, Hickory acquired SS Edgar Renteria, SP Daniel Cabrera and RP Salomon Torres from Bushwood for Jesse Crain and Bronson Arroyo -- the only top-flight starting pitcher dealt on the night.

In its last swap, Hickory acquired LH reliever Scott Eyre from Applegate for OF Johnny Gomes.

Applegate needed an outfielder to hit lefties after earlier shipping Gary Sheffield to Littleton for Chad Tracy.

In the night's only other deal, Margaritaville picked up Larry Walker from Detroit in exchange for Tony Clark and Craig Wilson.
